New Wrinkle Treatments of Today
As people age, their skin becomes more sensitive to lines and wrinkles. Skin may also become dull in appearance, and even appear rougher than it formerly was, regardless to whether or not you use skin care on a daily basis. There are many new wrinkle treatments available today which help with issue of dull and sagging skin as well as wrinkles from facial expressions and thin or dry skin.
How New Wrinkle Treatments Are Used
One of the many new wrinkle treatments is called thermage. This uses radio frequency energy to help heat the collagen in the face. This helps to strengthen the collagen so that it becomes tightened and makes the skin appear smoother and younger again. This can be a great new wrinkle treatment for those who have just strated to experience laughter lines and some sagging of the skin rather than for those who have more advanced damage done. Thermage does cause the skin to get red and possibly swell for the next few days to a week after the treatment. One downside with thermage as a new wrinkle treatment is that it does not produce results immediately after the skin is healed from the treatment. It usually takes at least a month and sometimes up to three months to see the effects of the thermage treatment. However, the treatment does seem to last longer than some of the other new wrinkle treatments on the market, at present seeming to last at least five years before needing any more treatment.
Another new wrinkle treatment is laser treatment which serves to eliminate the dead skin cells and blemishes from acne scarring and other dynamic wrinkles. This is one of the latest new wrinkle treatments on the market, with several different lasers being used to produce these results. One of the lasers, the N-Lite, works in somewhat the same way as thermage in that it heats up the collagen in the skin so that is becomes firmer again and makes the skin seem smoother and healthier. The CO2 and Erbium lasers serve to vaporize the skin cells so that the skin seems smoother and the new cells are stimulated for more collagen production. One problem with laser treatment as a new wrinkle treatment is that it does take some recovery time, sometimes up to two weeks before the oozing and pain stops and the face looks normal again. Along with this laser treatment also has its disadvantages as depending on the damage to the skin, for instance, with deep wrinkles or scars, may require more that one treatment.
